Eldon man charged after pulling knife on deputies
On 12/06/2017 deputies responded to a report of trespassing outside of Eldon. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a male subject identified as John Melton who pulled a fixed blade knife and threatened them. Melton was ordered to drop the weapon, in which he refused to comply with deputy commands. A struggle ensued, and after a brief struggle, deputies were able to take Melton into custody without further incident. After taking Melton into custody, deputies located multiple open knifes and a hatchet on his person. Melton has been charged by the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney with unlawful use of a weapon, and is currently being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond and a no bond probation violation.
